How to Use Saved Keywords

By the end of this guide, you’ll have a keyword list ready to turn into an article or SEO brief and share with your team. Keeping keywords in Saved Keywords puts your research in 1 place instead of spreading it across tools.

Step 1: Add keywords to a list

  1. Go to SEO > Saved Keywords
  2. Click a list name to open it, or click Create list to start a new one
  3. Click Add keywords
  4. In Target country, select the country to collect data for
  5. Enter 1 keyword per line, or click Import TXT or CSV to upload a file
  6. (Optional) To tag a keyword, add tags after it, separated by commas
  7. (Optional) To tag every keyword you’re adding, click + Add common tag and enter a tag
  8. Click Add keywords

(Optional) Step 2: Move or copy keywords to another list

  1. Open the list that holds the keywords
  2. Select the keywords with the checkboxes
  3. Click Actions > Move to another keyword list
  4. Select a list, or click Create new list
  5. Select Duplicate to keep the keywords in both lists, or Move to transfer them
  6. Click Send keywords

Note: Move isn’t available for a list shared with you, because you have Viewer access to it.

Step 3: Create content from your keywords

  1. Open the list
  2. In Tags or Topics, select the keyword group you want to write about and click Apply
  3. Select the keywords with the checkboxes
  4. Click Generate content
  5. Select Article or SEO brief

Articles open in Content Optimizer, and SEO briefs open in SEO Brief Generator.

(Optional) Step 4: Share or export a list

  1. Open the list
  2. Click Export
  3. Select Excel, CSV, or CSV Semicolon

Frequently asked questions

If you add a keyword that’s identical to one already in the list, Saved Keywords doesn’t add it again. A message lets you know the keywords are already in the list.

People you share a list with have Viewer access to it. They can open the list but can’t move keywords out of it, and they can remove it from their lists with Leave list.
